You will have responsibility for managing the accounting and reporting for many of the Skype non-Luxembourg based companies. You will have total responsibility for the accurate and timely monthly reporting of the numbers for the Skype companies under your control. This is a hands-on role and you will be working closely with out outsourced accountants, the in house accounts payable team and the key staff of each company. This role reports to the Financial Controller.
Specific responsibilities
Bookkeeping is currently outsourced. You will be responsible for ensuring the accounting firms are properly instructed, for reviewing their monthly reporting and asking them to make adjustments as necessary.
Working with our in house accounts payable team to ensure you have visibility of expenses committed and incurred. Review of expenses compared to budget.
Accurate detailed numbers for each company need to be reported to the Skype Consolidation team to tight deadlines each month
Review of payment runs prepared by in house accounts payable team to ensure invoices properly coded and authorized
Review of payroll for each company
Be the main point of contact for any Finance & Accounting related issues in each of the Skype companies under your control
Requirements
Minimum of five years experience with at least 3 years as Accounting/ Finance Manager or equivalent
Experience of working with out sourced accounting firm in a variety of countries
Fluent in English (mandatory) and French (preferable)
Numerate and intelligent
Attention to detail
Problem solving ability
Self motivated and ability to work on own initiative
Excellent Excel skills
Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize
