The Developer Platform and Relations Team at Skype builds the platform, tools, content, and support that enable the software developer community to build applications on the Skype API. Our goal is to enable an ecosystem of software and services that enrich the Skype experience both in the client, in other applications, and on the Web.
Short Job Description:
The Software Certification Manager will manage Skype’s certification program for developers of software applications using the Skype API. This program which was recently launched as a trial program with select developers is ready to come out of beta and we are looking for a champion of great Skype enabled applications to manage the day to day of the program and grow the number of Skype certified applications in the coming year. This includes managing the pipeline of applications from developers wishing to become certified, managing the creation of relevant certification criteria and specs with certification engineers, issuance of the final certification, and creation and management of marketing programs to raise awareness of and build value for software certification both with end users and developers. You will work closely with the Skype Certified Hardware Team to ensure the program leverages existing tools, resources, and efforts.
Main purpose of role
Overall management of Skype Certified Software Program.
Key accountabilities of the role
- Day-to-Day management of the software certification pipeline, project management of testing resources and certification workflow process. Partner communication and updating throughout the process, final issuance of certification.
- Management of certification criteria and specs developed together with test engineers. Publishing of specs and revisions.
- Recruitment of and marketing of certified software applications.
Pre-requisite Knowledge, skills and experience
- Strong project and resource management skills in a high volume environment
- Good understanding of current Skype API, competitive offerings, and current software landscape
- Experience developing quality assurance or test specifications
- Excellent organizational and communications skills
- Focus on making developers successful and a passion for Skype
Qualifications:
- 3-5 Years experience in similar role
Special requirements (e.g. amount of travel)
- Must be willing to travel once/twice a month 2-4 days to our offices in Estonia
