The Skype Core Library team is responsible for providing the common functionality included in all Skype clients. You will be working as a technical project manager being responsible for organizing the delivery of new functionality and improvements to existing functionality. Day-to-day you will be interacting with developers, testers of the Core Library team and product and project managers from other teams in Skype.
Responsibilities
- Support product management and project managers from other teams with knowledge from the Core Library team
- Write new specifications and review/enhance existing specifications
- Scheduling tasks for projects to implement functionality
- Tracking project progress
- Facilitate communication with other teams
Pre-requisite knowledge, skills and experience
- Demonstrated (5+ years) project management experience working with software engineering teams
- Strong software engineering background (library/framework engineering background is a plus)
- Development/programming experience in C++
- Superior project management skills, attention to detail and business judgment
- Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks/projects concurrently and deliver results according to plan
- Demonstrated experience in working with broad cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (English is a must, Estonian is a big plus, other languages a plus)
