The Developer Platform and Relations Team at Skype builds the platform, tools, content, and support that enable the software developer community to build applications on the Skype API. Our goal is to enable an ecosystem of software and services that enrich the Skype experience both in the client, in other applications, and on the Web.
Short Job Description
Primary responsibility of the Voice Services Program Manager is the day to day operation of, long term growth and expansion of the Skype Voice Services Program (http://www.skype.com/partners/voice/ ). The recently launched Voice Services Program enables developers of voice driven applications written on partner VXML server platforms to build, market, and sell voice services as premium rate products from Skype.
Main purpose of role
The Voice Services Program manager will work directly with our backend platform partners to continue to operate, and grow the existing program, as well as recruit new developers and services into the program. The program manager will work closely with the Skype Marketplaces Team, The Skype API and Developer Relations Team, and the Skype corporate marketing team to raise visibility of the program to both developers and Skype customers.
Key accountabilities of the role
- Management of new and existing partner services. Provisioning new services, setting up billing, etc.
- Setting and meeting core metrics for growth of the program together with platform partners. Weekly conference calls and reporting with partners.
- Recruitment and marketing of voice services program together with backend partners and Skype corporate and partner marketing.
Pre-requisite Knowledge, skills and experience
- Existing experience working with voice driven applications and voice XML. Passion for voice as a next generation user interface in computing.
- Strong project management skills, marketing experience required.
- Strong relationship and partner management skills.
Qualifications:
- University level Computer Science or similar degree, or 5+ years industry experience in software
- Experience with telecommunications, mobile, or IM applications a strong plus
Special requirements (e.g. amount of travel)
- Will require occasional travel to the US, Europe, Asia (1-2 times per quarter)
