Skype has been truly global company since we released first beta version of our software. Over the years we have grown more local by offering local payments, more languages, better localized web site etc. However, we are far from “there”. Localization Manager is position in taking the lead and responsibility in making sure that Skype is strong at local markets - walks and talks the local language.
Your responsibilities:
- Manage the processes and resources for localizing Skype to ensuring our success in global marketplace.
- Initiate localization and translation efforts for Skype’s products, including website, email communication, marketing materials etc.
- Take ownership of all localization projects.
- Counterpart for product, marketing and development team to ensure smooth release cycles.
- Leading co-operation with Skype’s local teams.
- Leading automation of localization related processes, targeting maximum efficiency.
- Prioritization of numerous and diverse tasks and projects.
- Localization related hiring.
- Maintaining localization budget.
Requirements:
- Strong project management skills
- Strong ability to interface between technical and business teams
- Experience in web and desktop applications
- Understanding of local market requirements
- Experience in localization tools, processes and content management
- Prioritization skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Expert in “expectation management”
- Strong international background and experience from different cultures is a major advantage
