- Lead, drive and scale Skype’s local business to ensure long-term market success
Core Responsibilities
Be the responsible country manager and executive leader for Skype in the market
Be the trusted expert on your market to the executive management team
Be the respected public face of Skype in the market
Be the senior leader for the local team, providing inspiration, confidence and direction
Manage the entire spectrum of Skype operations in the market.
Initial focus areas are:
Accelerate new user acquisition, activation and retention through marketing and other activities
Grow revenue from telecom, e-commerce and other sources
Lead, grow and retain a high performance local team
Develop, evangilise and own the Skype growth strategy in the market
Co-ordinate local business activities with other eBay group companies
Experience, Qualifications & Personal Characteristics
10+ years of work and leadership experience with both budgetary and headcount responsibility with relevant industry players
Proven track record of success in managing a P&L
Genuine leadership skills, i.e. the ability to motivate, shape, drive and retain a team, as well as the ability to represent Skype to customers, the general public and the industry in the market
Strong analytical and communication skills
Ability to develop, drive and implement strategy, as well as to adjust if and when needed or appropriate.
Excellent team player but at the same time a self-starter and do-er
Strong entrepreneurial drive and high energy level, with a proven ability to achieve optimal best results with limited resources.
Strong university degree from a top institution
Passion for Skype, its mission and community
Native of the local market, with excellent English, both written and spoken.
Strong desire to win in a fast-paced high-growth environment with ambitious quarterly target cycles.
