The Creative Design position is in the Skype North America Group. This position is responsible for all aspects of creative design and website production of all Skype North America region. The position will be a very senior individual contributor role with leadership and project management responsibilities spanning large project teams across Skype teams globally, external vendors/agencies and/or partner marketing and creative resources.
Specific areas of responsibilities include:
Creative Direction – maintain corporate image and consistency of all Skype North America customer-facing elements including product UI, on/offline sales and marketing collateral units, websites. Partner with Marketing as gatekeeper on brand and message consistency by maintaining a unified creative “voice”
Marketing Campaign Design and Production – design, develop and manage production of online marketing campaign material including direct emails, online web hubs/portals, advertising campaigns. Work with Marketing to measure and improve cost-effectiveness, drive results by iterative design efforts.
Product Concepting – work with Product Management, Marketing and Business Development to develop new product concepts. Develop new product user interface and usability design on desktop and web-based products. Provide consultancy to Partner Product Management and marketing in service integration scenarios.
Website Production and Deployment – be responsible for design, enhancement, customization and production of regional marketing and service websites, e.g. eCommerce web store. Work with corporate design team to maintain brand and message consistency, revise and evolve process and design guidelines to address regional needs.
Communication Strengths – very competent in verbal and written communications to multiple levels of management both internally and externally. Ability to drive meetings, presentations and discussion regarding issues and solutions. Ability to pull together teams to drive and influence new ideas or resolve issues.
Requirements
Minimum 5 -7 years of creative design, large scale web production and development experience
Minimum 3 years of team leader/managerial capacity
Project management experience with cross-company, cross-region team
Strong understanding of designing website functionality, interaction, site architecture and data flow, user interfaces, and intuitive navigation schemes required
Experience in designing desktop software UI strongly preferred
Expert knowledge in tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, DHTML, Javascript, CSS
Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentation
Ability to connect, motivate, provide and exhibit leadership with others
Ability to work and operate effectively in fast-paced environment with high degree of complexity and change
