The Brief
The Director of Product Management will lead the product group responsible for Mobile and Hardware Devices at Skype. This group’s mandate is to take Skype beyond the PC – improving the experience Skype users have through devices, making Skype available on mobile phones, and delivering Skype on other devices in the home and elsewhere.
Key Responsibilities
Drive group strategy and ensure the group exceeds financial targets and other performance metrics
Organize team efforts and set individual quarterly goals
Prioritize projects based on commercial and strategic objectives
Review the business case for new and existing opportunities
Continually improve communication and processes with other groups
Contribute to make every aspect of Skype even better
Pre-requisite Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Solid experience managing a group of talented individuals within a fast paced organization
Excellent track record in product management or product marketing
Passionate about delivering great mobile and consumer electronics products
Experience collaborating with engineering teams is essential. Candidates must be capable of interacting with development partners to help align roadmaps and secure strategic commitments. This includes silicon vendors, ODM and OEM device partners, and operators. Ideal candidates will have background in application software, internet technology and industrial design.
Fluent in English
An MBA and an engineering background are a plus
