The Brief
A position is open for a Head of Consumer PR to support the Consumer Business Unit needs for Skype in EMEA, APAC and Americas. This individual will be responsible for building the Skype brand around the world by creating comprehensive, executable, and measurable PR campaigns that support both the company's marketing and business objectives. Critical to the role will be the individual's ability to drive the concept formulation and work with regional PR leads to drive execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop a global PR vision and strategy in line with the consumer business strategy as well as the overall company communications strategy.
• Create media-worthy and measureable PR programs and campaigns that support the continued growth of the business.
• Lead the development of the overall media strategy, including strategically positioning Skype in media through effective messaging.
• Integrate public relations activities into overall marketing campaigns to support business objectives and collaborate with other cross-functional departments.
• Provide PR counsel and support to internal clients and senior management.
• Act as a spokesperson for Skype as needed.
• Work collaboratively with regional PR leads and global agency partners.

• Outstanding PR professional with solid track record of building up and managing global PR programs for fast paced company.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Be culturally sensitive and have a global perspective as well as experience in working across multiple markets.
• Reflect a good balance between entrepreneurial/start-up experience as well as working in larger, more structured environments.
• Ability to move between big picture, strategic thinking and more tactical details of PR strategy and execution; be a good problem solver.
• Demonstrate an ability to work in a matrix environment.
• Have a real passion for Skype brand, experience and future potential.
• Agency and international business experience, as well as fluency in foreign languages, are considered a plus.
• Possess a high degree of maturity and demonstrate managerial maturity.
• BA/BS with minimum relevant general PR experience, including two years in-house corporate communications experience.
