Life at Skype
There are many things you can do at Skype. Whether you like wearing a tie and working with partners, or you’d rather sell your soul to hardcore research and tinker in our Secret Labs, we welcome you in our team.

Development
Do you like to hack and play around with the latest and greatest GUI and networking technologies? Are your dreams in binary code and 32-bit color? Do you know the difference between pointer and char *? We are looking for people who know Delphi, PHP or C++ and have worked on Windows, Linux (Qt), MacOS X or mobile/embedded platforms. Our development is based in Tallinn, Estonia.
Marketing
Skype was rated the world's #3 brand in 2005. So it's one of the world's most exciting brands to work with. In the marketing team, you'll be part of a group who grows and extends it across all the regions that Skype operates in. We do a lot of work independently, but also in cooperation with many retail, hardware and other types of partners — so you'll work with many innovative and fun projects and channels.
Operations
Nice software on your mobile or computer is just the fancy face of Skype. Underneath is a team of hard-working operations people who make sure Skype’s web site, central services and network connections are online, available and stay that way. There are a number of things which require endless amounts of negotiations, server testing and tinkering both inside the company and in association with external partners. If you get excited about things like load balancing, server redundancy and large-scale datacenter operations and can tell an RJ11 socket from RJ45 by the smell join our operations team. You can work from either Tallinn or London.
Customer support
Skype is simple to use, right? Most people in the world agree. Still, there are some who need guidance. Maybe it is because they migrated from Windows to another operating system which they’re not yet good at using, or they can't quite figure out the interface of their latest mobile gadget where Skype runs, or bits and bytes went mysteriously wrong in the Skype accounting interface. In any case, be prepared for long sessions of back-and-forth with customers, and rest assured they’ll be thankful when you help them figure out what they need to know. Out customer support team is based in Tallinn.
Product and project management
The world is full of ideas about what Skype could do to improve our lives. Between ideas and working software and services, there’s a process of collecting and analyzing requirements, maintaining schedules, prioritizing deliverables and making sure people actually get things done. If you feel challenged, rather than intimidated, by the ever-persistent conflict of resources and requirements, this one is for you. And you can work from either Tallinn or London.
